Flipping Classrooms for Significant Learning During COVID 19 and After

Flipped learning or Flipped classroom inverts traditional teaching so that what is normally done in class is flipped or switched with what is normally done by the students, out of class. Thus, learners are more active, teachers optimize time and learning becomes more significant and long lasting. This presentation shows the model with its advantages and challenges, as well as examples of application at secondary and university level.

My name is Edith Luna Villlanueva and I am an alumna of the Texas Intensive English Program (TIEP 2008). I have a Masters degree in Education from the University of Bristol (UK), and I lecture in the subjects, English Grammar II, Contrastive Grammar and ICT in the University of Catamarca. I belong to research groups, being my areas of interest, TEFL, teaching, ICT integration in education and volunteering. Moreover, I train teachers in these topics as well. I also work as a volunteer, teaching English to vulnerable social groups, as part of GRUVII, a volunteering group I started more than ten years ago.
