Designing e-activities for EFL lessons during the COVID pandemic

🗓️July 27 – 2.30 PM UTC-3

The use of technology has become an essential part of the teaching and learning process during the current Covid-19 pandemic, with teachers and students facing many challenges of all kinds. But one positive consequence from this experience has been an opportunity to rethink how digital technologies can be used to support and enhance the teaching and learning of a foreign language. The aim of this presentation is to describe and discuss different kinds of e-activities designed and implemented in EFL lessons at a secondary school using Information and Communication Technology (ICT). By integrating ICT, we are not only developing our students’ digital literacy, which will then be required in their future career and profession, but we are also helping promote self-esteem, various learning styles, creativity and motivation. Drawing on Constructivism and findings of research into second language acquisition, design strategies and procedures for implementing e-activities for the EFL lesson will be introduced and analyzed as well as ways of assessing them.
